With the DuraFon 1X, you can have one phone line and up to nine handsets.
-
With the DuraFon Pro, you can have up to 32 phone lines and 99 handsets. To have more than four lines, you will need multiple bases.
-
One handset is packaged with each base.
-
You can program which lines ring and which can be used to make calls on at each handset.
-
Calls can be transferred from one handset to another, even if the call does not normally work at the second handset.
-
Multiple systems can be used in the same area.
-
One or two handsets are designated as "admin," and are used for programming.
-
The base can be connected directly to analog line(s) from your local phone company, VoIP lines, or analog station ports on a PBX or hybrid phone system.
-
Bases need electrical power and a source of dialtone.
-
Handset charging cradles need electrical power, but no phone connection.
-
DuraFons are about six times as powerful as the average cordless phone (708mW peak RF output).
-
Handsets provide full-duplex intercom operation even if they are far away from the base (but still within range of each other).
-
Half-duplex voice paging is available to one handset, several handsets, or all handsets.
-
Text messaging is possible from handset to handset.
-
Handsets have 2.5mm headset jacks for handsfree conversations.
-
Each handset is supplied with a stubby antenna, plus a longer antenna for maximum range. The longer antenna will provide about 20% more coverage then the short stubby antenna; but the stubby antenna is less likely to poke you in the eye or get caught in a beaded curtain.
-
The base can use an optional external antenna to increase range.
-
The base does NOT have a handset.
-
The base does NOT provide voicemail.
-
The handset weighs just 6.2 ounces, and measures 6.3 x 2.3 x 1.2 inches with the short antenna.
-
Digital Spread Spectrum radio transmission with Frequency Hopping resists noise and provides extremely high resistance to eavesdropping. Frequency changes 100 times per second.
-
Engenius phones operate in the 900MHz radio band, which provides longer range than higher frequencies such as 2.4GHz.
-
EnGenius phones are extremely unlikely to interfere with wireless networks, or to receive interference from such sources as microwave ovens.
